Next week, when Will Mellor returns to Coronation Street to reprise his role as Harvey Gaskell, he trades in the sequin tops and Strictly Come Dancing ballroom for a jail tabard.
When Harvey escaped from jail and returned to Weatherfield during Super Soap Week, it had been nearly a year since he was last seen.
Due to the sinkhole and enormous storm, Harvey’s attempt to exact revenge on Leanne (Jane Danson) after she had him jailed failed.
Harvey found himself next to the canal, grabbed Abi’s (Sally Carman) rifle, and went inside Leanne’s apartment.
Harvey realized he had accidentally killed Sam’s (Jude Riordan) mother as soon as he squeezed the trigger.
Most lately, thanks to little Sam, who has been writing letters to Harvey while he is imprisoned, Harvey’s name has emerged.
The following week, while Nick (Ben Price) and Sam are getting ready to commemorate Natasha’s passing, Leanne pretends to be out shopping while actually sneaking out to see Harvey.
Leanne is shocked when Harvey informs her that Sam has been writing to him and believes he should be stopped in the visiting room of the prison.
Sam responds angrily when Leanne and Nick confront him at home, saying he only wants to know why Harvey killed his mother.
But if he’s compelled to stop writing to Harvey, will he be able to find the answers he needs?
