Coronation Street spoilers: Bernie breaks down over tragic death discovery

On Monday, November 13, Bernie Winter, who plays Jane Hazlegrove, appeared in court following his apprehension for possessing pilfered items.

Bernie appeared to be her normal self at first, telling duty solicitor Joel (Calum Lill) that they would make their dinnertime plea and that she would enter a not guilty plea.

Given that the authorities have photographic proof of Bernie committed the crime, Joel noted that it would really be preferable for Bernie to admit guilt.

Bernie surprised her family by admitting guilt in the courtroom, acting on Joel’s suggestion.

The judge went on to say that she is forced to give Bernie a jail sentence due to her past.

Bernie kept trying to be strong for her loved ones back at Paul Foreman’s (Peter Ash) and Billy Mayhew’s (Daniel Brocklebank) apartment.

After hearing that she would only be able to serve six months in prison, she sat down and informed Paul that he would likely not be alive by the time she was released, as he only had six to twelve months to live.

Bernie then advised them to either accept each day they have left together or be depressed at this turn of events.

The family then made their way to the Bistro for drinks.

They had fun, joked, laughed, and smiled, but it was all marred by melancholy because of Bernie’s incarceration and Paul’s failing health.

We witnessed how Bernie was actually being affected by the experience back at Dev Alahan’s (Jimmi Harkishin).

The adored figure rarely lets her guard down and always seems strong and confident, so it was unexpected when she started crying.

Bernie stated, “She should be with Paul till the end and because there’s a chance she might not be, she won’t ever forgive herself,” as Dev listened.
