Coronation Street lines up acid attack storyline for Daisy Midgeley

A frightening plot line for Coronation Street has Daisy Midgeley as the victim of a horrifying acid attack.

Daisy has been the target of Justin’s stalker campaign for the past couple of weeks, but soon things will get worse.

According to The Mirror, Justin will commit a fresh act of wickedness when he throws acid at Daisy in The Rovers.

The soap opera’s producers apparently want to spread awareness about the issue, thus many research partners helped write the plot.

The partnership, according to Teresa Parker, head of communications at Women’s Aid, is “always quite comprehensive in their research in violence against women themes.”

“We were delighted to speak with the scientists. Stories like this are crucial for increasing public awareness of problems like stalking and the dangers it poses, she said.

Daisy’s encounters with Justin occur while she’s getting ready to marry Daniel Osbourne, and boss Iain MacLeod recently hinted at the plot twists in the ongoing arc.

“My press officer wouldn’t want me giving away too much information at this point! But let’s be honest, it’s a soap wedding; when do they ever go perfectly,” he said.

“It goes without saying that the narrative that is beginning right now, with Daisy encountering this stalker, will continue right up to and including the wedding day. That will be a small element of the drama surrounding the wedding.

“But, I believe Daniel and Daisy are here to stay. No spoilers, but even if the wedding doesn’t go exactly as planned, I do believe that long-term, I’m truly involved in them as a marriage,” he said.
