Coronation Street legend Audrey Roberts confirms retirement

David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) and Max Turner (Paddy Bever) were perplexed by Audrey Roberts’ (Sue Nicholls) actions on Monday, November 13.

After Audrey’s son Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) passed away, David and Max had been watching Audrey at the salon.

When Andrew Whyment’s character Kirk Sutherland showed up tonight, Audrey made the decision to handle his cut.

David was worried to see Audrey pick up the clippers as Kirk sat down and noticed her hands trembling as she drew nearer to Kirk’s head.

Audrey hustled out of the Bistro after managing to divert attention, but David took a seat and faced his grandmother.

Poor Audrey acknowledged that a lot has changed in the vocabulary of hairdressing since the salon originally opened, and she is now unsure of what to do.

Audrey was told by David that although her profession has been successful, it’s okay to acknowledge that it might be time to hang up the scissors.

Although Audrey wants to do that, she needs the money because Stephen has left her with very little, Audrey told David.

Audrey found that Stephen had stolen most of her money before Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) killed him.

When Stephen moved the factory’s bank balance into a fake account he had created, he not only left Audrey but the Underworld employees in disarray.

Can Audrey follow Carla Connor’s (Alison King) and Sarah Platt’s (Tina O’Brien) lead in reestablishing order at Underworld so she can retire in peace?
