Coronation Street legend announces retirement as she hits out at industry bosses

Prior to appearing in Holby City and Ackley Bridge, Vicky Entwistle played Janice Battersby for 14 years.
Vicky Entwistle, a veteran of Coronation Street, revealed her intention to retire while criticizing corporate executives. In the popular ITV soap opera from 2000 to 2010, the 53-year-old star played Janice Battersby, a fan favorite.
On Twitter, she announced her decision to stop acting, blaming recent auditions’ lack of respect for her choice. On Twitter, she wrote: “Just had a few Zoom auditions. I have two halves of myself: one believes I am lucky, and the other says, “Any feedback, you cocky bs!”
She yelled, “I just spent £80 on gas,” when asked about additional auditions. The most of the time, they don’t even notice your presence! This industry has lost its respect! I intend to retire!
Fans have implored her to change her mind. wrote @Rebecca58643221: “You cannot retire, I repeat. You are too young to begin. I enjoy seeing you rerun all the venerable Corrie episodes. I wish there was a way to have you and Les re-written into the current episodes. I really enjoy @Brucejonesnew xx’s softer side in vintage episodes.”
It would be wonderful to have @vicky entwistle return to Corrie xxxx, @stevo0683 pleaded.Vicky left the show and afterwards had appearances on Celebrity Big Brother, in Holby City, and in Ackley Bridge.
