In the episode of Coronation Street airing on Monday, September 11, a cherished cast member made a surprise visit. Evelyn (Maureen Lipman) convinced Tyrone (Alan Halsall) that he needed to inform his wife Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) of the most recent events in Weatherfield.

Hope (Isabella Flanagan) and Tyrone were horrified to discover Cassie (Claire Sweeney), Tyrone’s mother, dead in the street from an overdose last week. Then, Cassie persuaded Tyrone to join with her over Evelyn, who had advised him to prioritize his daughters and keep Cassie away from them. As a result, Tyrone made the decision to let Cassie stay at his home, and Evelyn opted to pack her bags and go to the precinct apartment.

Evelyn talked to Fiz on the phone in this episode, and afterward, she advised Tyrone to tell Fiz what had been happening with Cassie since she had a right to know about matters that harmed her daughter.

Tyrone would get no where Evelyn was concerned. She said, “I’ll say it again, this time in Romanian,” alluding to Tyrone’s liaison with Alina Pop (Ruxandra Porojnicu) and the damage that concealment may wreak. Roy (David Neilson) concurred, saying “Fiz has a right to know the facts.”

at Norfolk, where she accepted a well-paying position as a supervisor at an Underworld manufacturing, Fiz is currently residing.

This plot served as Jennie McAlpine’s replacement while she was out on maternity leave.

As a result, it was a major and very welcome surprise to see Fiz herself on his laptop screen as the couple shared a video connection as Tyrone prepared to make the call as his grandmother had insisted.

Only the last few seconds of the call were visible to us, after Tyrone had reportedly described Cassie’s situation and Fiz had approved of his choice to let his mother to live with Hope and Ruby (Billie Naylor) and their children.

I’m really excited to see you, Fiz said. “Call me whenever you need.”

It was a nice opportunity to briefly see Fiz and for the show to maintain the link between Tyrone and Fiz even though they are currently apart, even though Tyrone had only made the call at Evelyn’s suggestion.

Doris, Jennie’s third kid, was born in April of this year, but Fiz didn’t leave the show until May because the episodes are recorded months in advance.

Albert and Hilda, Jennie’s other children with her husband Chris Farr, have a younger sister named Doris. Doris is a family name, and I love that it goes with Albert and Hilda, so that’s why I chose it for the new baby, she recently said when asked about the name decision. Furthermore, they’re all extremely “Corrie.”
