Emma Brooker of Coronation Street will start afresh romance plotline next week, with a dashing new trainee doctor who takes her off her feet – but Steve is quick to snub him.
Emma, who is played by Alexandra Mardell, is going to get the guy of her dreams in a significant new plotline that was unveiled at the end of 2020.
It comes after her ex-boyfriend Seb was killed in a vicious and unprovoked hate crime attack with his goth lover Nina Lucas.
Emma is overjoyed when Curtis, a good-looking young guy, agrees to help her transport several barrels into the cellar the next week.
Steve, on the other hand, is not pleased when he later sees Emma drinking with Curtis and recognizes him as the thug who knocked him from his bike and caused him to finish last in the charity benefit.
Will Steve and Emma get into a fight over her new love interest?
Amy later gently warns Steve that he’s grown a little preoccupied with fundraising and that he needs to relax before having another nervous breakdown.
Steve ultimately accepts and tells Emma he’ll devote more time to his family, and he’s touched when Emma proposes they do some fundraising together.
Steve assures Emma that he will make things right with Curtis and apologizes for his actions.
Curtis then announces that he has an interview at the cafe, so Emma and Steve do a fake interview with him.
Steve and Emma are thrilled when Curtis announces he’s studying to be a doctor.
ITV’s Coronation Street airs at 7.30 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
