Coronation Street confirms details of Fiz Stape’s temporary exit storyline
Iain MacLeod, the show’s producer, has provided information regarding Fiz Stape’s impending temporary departure from the soap opera.
As actress Jennie McAlpine is expecting her third child with husband Chris Farr, Fiz will be away from the cobbles for a spell.
Despite having to spend some time apart, Fiz and Tyrone won’t be breaking up again, according to MacLeod, who spoke on Loose Women.
When questioned about Fiz leaving Tyrone, MacLeod responded: “Geographically speaking, she must! One of the odd things about working on a soap opera is this.
“The first response when an actor announces they are pregnant is undoubtedly “Congratulations, that’s fantastic,” but the second is “Okay, how are we going to account for their absence?”
We didn’t want to separate Fiz and Tyrone because their relationship has been on and off since they recently got married.
They’ve even pre-recorded footage of Fiz to play as video calls, according to MacLeod, so that viewers can see her and Tyrone continue talking to one other.
Fiz will leave to cover Jennie’s maternity leave, but he promised it wouldn’t be a fight. “They’ll part as friends and attempt the long-distance relationship.
Actually, we have some short segments with Jennie that we have already pre-recorded and will play as video calls so that even if she is away, we can still see her interacting with Tyrone. To hide it, we’re attempting to utilize every tactic at our disposal.
McAlpine informed OK! in January that she was six months along in the delivery of her third child. “We’re absolutely thrilled. The finest Christmas present was the idea of adding to the craziness and disarray of our family! I’m quite enthusiastic about 2023 since it will be a memorable year.
