Following her time on Strictly Come Dancing, BBC executives are apparently hoping to cast Ellie Leach in a new soap opera.
when more than a decade of portraying Faye Windass on Coronation Street, the actress, 22, was reportedly “left with no choice” except to retire when showrunners made it plain that her character wouldn’t be returning. Ellie subsequently admitted it was “scary” to leave the show.
In a heartbreaking statement on social media for her 210,000 fans, Ellie, who joined the ITV soap opera cast in 2011, announced Faye’s departure from Weatherfield’s cobblestone streets in May.
Ellie officially joined the Strictly Come Dancing lineup alongside Les Dennis, Annabel Croft, Nigel Harman, Bobby Brazier, and others shortly after she departed the serial opera, it was announced.
She’s allegedly a favorite on Corrie, and according to BBC executives, she’ll be a tremendous hit when the program returns on September 16. The popular series Waterloo Road, which returned to television screens around the end of 2021, is reportedly looking to recruit her.
An insider alleged that when the spotlight shines on the upcoming season of Strictly, “they want to tap into her mass appeal and bring that over to Waterloo Road.”
According to the source, who spoke to The Sun, “They don’t want to leave it too late and have another show snap her up.”
For a response, Mirror contacted BBC and her representatives. While attending the Pride of Manchester Awards in May, just days before it was officially confirmed, Ellie recently talked about her departure from Coronation Street. On the red carpet, Ellie told the Mirror, “It is scary, but I think it’s just a crazy situation.”
“Leaving a place where you’ve spent a long time is always a little terrifying, but I also believe that with risk comes reward.
In spite of how depressing it will be, you cannot live in that terror. “To be honest, I’ve been working since I was nine years old, so I’m going to take a short vacation,” the new Strictly star stated.
“I believe I will take a short vacation and travel for a short period of time.” Ellie continued, “I don’t have a particular dream role but I love the leading women roles in a rom-com, or like a rom-com series. I do plan to keep acting after Corrie.” I’m so devoted to romantic comedies.
